Solstice

Solstice came together in the summer of 2009 when singer Tracy Sousa and Popik who had performed together in the Defunked Band  and drummer Andy Janowiak, who plays with Popik in Ten Foot Tall decided to form a high energy big band that could shake booties and rock houses and generally get down.

They called the best players in a 60 mile radius and cut some tracks at VEE Group studios including an incredible video. The vibrancy and energy are evident as funk, rock and jazz come together. 

This 6 piece dance band features the outstanding vocals of Tracy Sousa and Ed Wall performing classic R&B and Soul material such as Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder,  as well as artists like Bob Marley, Steely Dan, Billy Preston and modern rock such as No Doubt, K.T. Tunstall and Maroon 5. Solstice also features Jim Popik on guitar and vocals, Mark Amentt on bass, Andy Janowiak on drums and Tom Verdi on sax.
